Meet our Executive Chef

The Executive Chef at The Bistro at Vineyard Commons, Christopher Diesing, is a native of Dutchess County and is passionate about the foods grown locally here in the Hudson Valley. He has always had a passion for food and gardening and here at The Bistro, Chris will be bringing his passions together to create a fresh, imaginative and contemporary dining experience.

In 2002 Christopher graduated from The Culinary Institute of America and began his journey through the exciting world of food. Following graduation Christopher obtained a Junior Sous Chef position on the Connecticut coastline at The Saybrook Point Inn. Here Christopher used all of his knowledge from school and honed his techniques in a kitchen that emphasized freshness and utilized the best seafood that the Connecticut coastline has to offer.

With three years of experience at the SPI, Christopher was eager to take the next step in his career. Moving to FL he began working as the Restaurant Chef at The Club at Pelican Bay in Naples. Working under Chef Joseph Gross he learned to successfully manage people and the many aspects of the kitchen. After five years of Chefs Gross’s mentoring Christopher decided to return to the Hudson Valley. In May of 2010 Christopher joined the Vineyard Commons team and has been diligently working to create his vision of a unique dining experience in The Bistro at Vineyard Commons using the knowledge he’s gained from past experiences.

Christopher’s vision of The Bistro at Vineyard Commons will be one that provides guests with an experience of high quality familiar dishes in a comfortable setting. At The Bistro, he’s striving to unite his passion for cooking with his love of gardening to create a unique dining experience, one that will stand alone in Highland.
