The Child Development Associate (CDA) is a nationally recognized credential that will
qualify you to work as a child care professional in any early childhood program in the
United States. As a CDA recipient, you will meet all state licensing requirements and
will be qualified to meet the specific needs of children and work with parents and other
adults to nurture children’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth.
The Training Center for Early Childhood Professionals offers an individualized,
hands-on approach to CDA training. We will assist you with every step along the way
to earning your credential including helping you create your resource file, complete
your required observations and prepare for your final assessment.
The CDA course will teach you:

As a result of participating in this topic area of the CDA program, students will:
- Provide a variety of equipment, activities, and opportunities to promote the physical development of children
- Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children
- Actively communicate with children and provide opportunities and support for children to understand, acquire, and use spoken and written language to communicate thoughts and feelings
- Provide opportunities that stimulate children to play with sound, rhythm, language, materials, space, and ideas in individual ways to express their creative abilities
